Web research!!

This was the time to go away and do our individual research on our chosen idea, each member in the group had to chose an idea then we all get together and share what we have researched and how we could implement this into our work. The first idea i came up with was an a dark alleyway similar to that of Resident evil 2. The reason i chose this is because i like the atmosphere the scene gives off, its somewhere you would not like to be on your own at night. Incorporating character animation to this i think would be fun and interesting. my rough assumption of what the animation should be is that someone is being followed down the dark alleyway but you never get to see who or what it is. This where the shadows and lighiting will take places and also a lot of silhouettes. Image below are of the alleyways which were my first ideas

one of Richards ideas was to have the environment based on a teenagers bedroom.Implementing on Richards idea on having a bedroom i, went and looked at teenage boys and girls bedrooms, as we had not chosen if the character were to be a boy or girl.

After looking more into Richards idea of the bedroom i thought to my self why not create the outside of the house which could start of with an establishing shot where the camera then zooms into the bedroom. I still wanted to incorpertate the different them i had already research such as tensed, dark and horror. This is when i had to research on different layouts of houses but also still incorporate the dark theme. One of the images i found were taken from the movie Monster House, the way the house is presented in the film is some where along the lines of how i wanted the outside of the house to be like. Not saying that the house has to come to life and eat people lol, but looking at the image of monster house i posted up the scene atmosphere is just dark and spooky. I think the lighiting effect would be pretty awesome is done right and could end up some what like this image. I really was looking foward to the idea of modelling the outer house to just to show the enviroment and mood of where the animation was going to take place. Ricahard came to the conclusion of not incorporating the house in the scene becuase this would be a waste of time. I would of minded producing a low poly house just to show where the whoel story was set and the mood.
