Primary research continued.....
As I was in charged and had taken fully responsibility of modelling the kitchen area I had to do my research into finding different types of kitchen set ups. To plan the structure of the kitchen I had to produce a top view of the kitchen to show where the kitchen utensils were going to be placed, and an overview of the surrounding area of the kitchen.
My own kitchen has contributed a lot as this is where the ideas were taken from, but to an extent as I did not want our modelled kitchen resembling my home kitchen 100%.

Primary research
During the early stages of developing our ideas our main focus was on producing the kitchen enviroment first as this will be the main focus of the project, but I had also thought of an idea of also modelling the outside of the house to show an establishing shot of the surrounding area where the animation will take place.
Here I produced a 2 point perspective of a modern looking house which I chose as the final idea. The way I had it planned out for the first section of the animation would be an establishing which zoomed in toward the kitchen window where it all the animation will take place. After discussing this idea with the group we came to the conclusion that we would choose not to have the first section of the animation as this would take up most of our time trying to model the outside of the house even though the main focus was the kitchen.

Generating ideas
When we first started generating ideas towards the project my first plan was to go with a darker theme such as the environments from Resident evil 2, so i was thinking something towards a Gothic alleyway with a tense atmosphere. The reason I chose this idea was because its an atmosphere that I like to be in when playing a video game or watching a movie, it just creates tension and suspense and sets the mood for the character placed in that particular scene.
This was just my idea for the environment but we wasn't using that idea alone, team mates Richard and Dean had to come up with their own ideas for their environment also so we could then sit down together and discuss the chosen idea for our environment and also how we could improve on it. After the first week we had chosen our final setting for our environment which was chosen by Team mate Richard, the environment we were going to chose was going to be inside a kitchen. Now that the environment was chosen their had to be a story that goes along with it, the story we had chosen was based on a cockroach who lived in the wall of the kitchen and had to somehow manage his way from one end of the room to the other.
The reason that the cockroach idea fitted well with the environment is that these commonly annoying pest are familiar to be found in the kitchen and what not better way to show off the surroundings of the environment then to have the first person perspective of the cockroach making his way around the kitchen. Part of the project was to have the character in the scene interact with the environments or to interact with the objects in the environment. The way we could pull this off was by having the cockroach reaching his destination and trying to avoid sudden mishaps such as tea pot glasses or shelves fulling down on him and for him not to to be killed in the process.

Web research!!
This was the time to go away and do our individual research on our chosen idea, each member in the group had to chose an idea then we all get together and share what we have researched and how we could implement this into our work. The first idea i came up with was an a dark alleyway similar to that of Resident evil 2. The reason i chose this is because i like the atmosphere the scene gives off, its somewhere you would not like to be on your own at night. Incorporating character animation to this i think would be fun and interesting. my rough assumption of what the animation should be is that someone is being followed down the dark alleyway but you never get to see who or what it is. This where the shadows and lighiting will take places and also a lot of silhouettes. Image below are of the alleyways which were my first ideas

one of Richards ideas was to have the environment based on a teenagers bedroom.Implementing on Richards idea on having a bedroom i, went and looked at teenage boys and girls bedrooms, as we had not chosen if the character were to be a boy or girl.
After looking more into Richards idea of the bedroom i thought to my self why not create the outside of the house which could start of with an establishing shot where the camera then zooms into the bedroom. I still wanted to incorpertate the different them i had already research such as tensed, dark and horror. This is when i had to research on different layouts of houses but also still incorporate the dark theme. One of the images i found were taken from the movie Monster House, the way the house is presented in the film is some where along the lines of how i wanted the outside of the house to be like. Not saying that the house has to come to life and eat people lol, but looking at the image of monster house i posted up the scene atmosphere is just dark and spooky. I think the lighiting effect would be pretty awesome is done right and could end up some what like this image. I really was looking foward to the idea of modelling the outer house to just to show the enviroment and mood of where the animation was going to take place. Ricahard came to the conclusion of not incorporating the house in the scene becuase this would be a waste of time. I would of minded producing a low poly house just to show where the whoel story was set and the mood.
